i’ve never loved baking..because i hate washing all those dirty sticky dishes..
but now i kinda enjoy doing..i dunnoe why..i guess i’ve changed (hahahaha)
today i tried to bake White Bread (alah roti putih cm gardenia tuh la)
tp xjadi! hahaha tlajak tepung kot..so dia xbapa naik..crust dia cm tebal sket..eatable n still sdap ok..cuma xgebu..this is how they look like (aku buat kecik2..ala2 bun gtu)

unpriced section
my last day of volunteer and the final day of Lifeline Bookfest January 2010..today i was placed at the Unpriced Section..heard from the other volunteers that today will be a busy day as the price for all the books have been marked down as follow:
Unpriced Section: 1 bag = $5
Priced & High Quality Section: half price
as expected there were a lot of customers coming in and i have to be prepared physically (u know, to pack all those heavy $5 bags..they’re heavy okay) there’s this uncle who bought 2 bags full of cassettes, a family with a full trolley (around 5-6 bags) and etc..there were also some who just bought 1 or 2 books because they couldn’t find anything that interests them..
i was so touched to see this one husband who was very concern of his pregnant wife..she was trying to lift the bags full of books from the counter and her husband immediately stopped her n said “let me do it, u’re going to stretch yourself” (OMG!! how romantic! well, for me IT IS romantic) even though he already have 5 kids (yeah, i counted his kids) he’s still so caring n passionate about his wife! ergghh i want one!!!!!!! hahahahhahaa
being involved in this event had made me learnt a lot of things..i was able to meet more people, make more friends, see different perspectives of life and most importantly, gain valuable and unforgettable experience..i really2 hope that i could join them again in June..god bless all of u..

Day 2
the most sought after thing besides books
i was assigned to help at counter 3B (High Quality section, where all the books are in better condition if compared to Unpriced n Priced Section) to work with Pam, Kevin n err (I forgot his name) John kot..huhu
it was quite hard for me to understand what both Pam n Kevin said because Pam’s voice is quite small while Kevin talked very slowly (in volume) so most of the times I’ll just say “yeah” (sorry Pam, Kevin)..other volunteers at the other counters were quite competitive, we stole each other’s customers (I did too, sometimes haha XD) well, u don’t volunteer to just stand and watch right..u volunteered because u wanna do something..so that’s why we’re like that..but it was fun!
here are some tips to attract customers:
1) be ready at all times (they won’t come to your counter if they saw u doing something else: reading, gossiping, etc)
2) look around for customers (u can even wave to call them), smile n greet them (they are more likely to come to u when u look n smile at them)
that’s all! easy right?

dia tau Malaysia, KL..uiii bangga seyhh (sbb kdg2 org cnie xtau M’sia..Indon, S’pore, Thailand depa tau, tp M’sia xtau) dia pon dok puji la AirAsia..dia kata baguih, murah, slalu ada sale..dia siap register jd member..dlm masa 2 mggu lg dia nk naik AirAsia lg..nk p India (kaya gak p.cik postman neh)..dia kata $200 lebeyh ja tiket flight..murah la bg duit dia..cuba klu det M’sia..mahai p.cik oiii!

volunteers getting ready
Day 1
my first day ever at bookfest as a volunteer(last year i went as a shopper)..kinda nervous because i don’t know what to do or how they work..early in the morning, i met Anastasia, a very friendly lady (she remembers my name! how cool is that?) she explained to me about the system there..after that i get to access the books (more than 800 000)..i got the benefit of doing some shopping before the customers get in..haha!
my first customer was a guy (he was actually a volunteer there as well - saw the name tag) and the first word (or sound - to be precise) that came out of my mouth was “ERK?”! OMG! (malu nk mati!) i didn’t know what to do cause i was alone at the counter and the cashier is not in yet! i just stared at him blankly n i think he knows that i’m new and he said he’ll go to the other counter..what an idiot i was! i feel like burying my face in the ground! ok, enough of that embarrassing moment..
at the counter, i worked as a packer (just seal the bags with the tape) with Karen - pricer (she calculated the amount in her head!) Jean - packer (who puts the book in the bag) n Lynne - cashier (she tried so hard to remember my name)..they were all very friendly and talkative (and gossips a lot too!) i had such a great time there..ouh and the tea break was awesome! love the cookies!

kmarin, suatu petang yg indah lg panas aku g city (Brisbane la kn..dh aku dok kt Brisbane skrg)..
seberjaya ja aku lintas jln kt Commonwealth Bank tuh, tserempak la dgn sorg makcik yg cuba menjual magazine apa ntah (ah pa aku kesah mag apa dia jual)..
dia dok promote2 la magazine tuh swuh bli..aku n Cik Leni wat dek ja la..pa kes aku nk bli magazine tuh..bek aku bli coursebook..lg byk pekdah, leh study (wewwwiittt cemerlang siot! hehe kadang2..)
dh aku wat dek tuh bleh dia kata “They don’t understand English..they shouldn’t be in this country”

18. Sesungguhnya ini terdpt dlm kitab2 yg dahulu,
19.(iaitu) kitab2 Ibrahim & Musa.
